Nothing moves automatically from the Options Profit Calculator, or its OpCalc+ app, to Options Matrix Pro. Rebuild the strategies you still use leg by leg in the Visualizer, add your tickers to a watchlist and compare the results with your broker records.

1

Before you begin

  • List the strategy calculators you use most and the tickers you run them on.
  • Export any reports you want to keep from OpCalc+ (the Options Profit Calculator app) before you cancel.
  • Write down open positions from your broker statement: legs, strikes, expiry, quantity and entry price.
  • Note whether you use the backtester or the Rolling Calculator, since OMP has no rule-based backtester.
2

Match the way you work

See where the steps you use in Options Profit Calculator sit inside OMP.

1

Find ideas

In OMP

Scan a saved watchlist or a broad universe for strategy candidates, then carry the exact result forward.

In Options Profit Calculator

Search the options universe with Option Finder by expiration, strike and implied volatility, or enter an expected stock price and see a suggested option.

2

Compare

In OMP

Rank strikes and expiries in Matrix by normalised yield, breakeven, probability and expected move.

In Options Profit Calculator

Compare options side by side, and view several strikes at once with the Multi-Strike Viewer on OpCalc+ Pro and Growth.

3

Model

In OMP

Open the exact legs in the Visualizer with expected move, Greeks and price, date and IV scenarios.

In Options Profit Calculator

Choose a strategy calculator, enter the legs and read profit and loss by price and date.

4

Track

In OMP

Save the setup as a campaign and keep thesis, notes, rolls and adjustments with it.

In Options Profit Calculator

Save strategy variations and export reports in the app; the Rolling Calculator estimates a roll.

3

Rebuild your setup in OMP

Bring across only the watchlists, scans and active trades you still use.

  1. 1

Create an OMP watchlist and add your tickers by hand.

  2. 2

Rebuild each strategy in the Visualizer with preset or custom legs, and confirm strike, expiry, action, quantity and entry price.

  3. 3

Compare the P/L curve and breakeven with your calculator output. Models differ: the calculator assumes constant implied volatility, leaves out fees and slippage, and derives probability of profit from 30-day implied volatility, so compare the curve and breakeven rather than every figure.

  4. 4

Use scanners (All Access, $50/month) and Matrix (Pro, $30/month) to find and compare new candidates on live data.

  5. 5

Save validated trades as campaigns (Pro), then use rolls and adjustments to follow them.

4

What will not transfer

These stay in Options Profit Calculator or have no OMP equivalent. Decide which you still need before you change your setup.

  • Rule-based backtests stay in OpCalc+. OMP does not run them.
  • OMP has no separate roll calculator or multi-strike viewer. Matrix ranks strikes and expiries side by side, and rolls are recorded in campaigns.
  • Saved strategy variations stay in your OpCalc+ account.

Frequently asked questions

Can OMP import my OpCalc+ strategies?

No. Saved strategies stay in OpCalc+. Rebuild the ones you still use leg by leg in the Visualizer.

Can I still use the Options Profit Calculator website?

Yes. It is a separate, independent site and keeps working as before. A second calculator can serve as a cross-check on a model result.

Why do the profit numbers differ between the calculator and OMP?

The models differ. The calculator’s FAQ says its estimates are Black-Scholes-based, assume implied volatility stays constant and exclude slippage and fees. Probability of profit is defined differently too, so compare the P/L curve and breakeven rather than every figure.
